“Murder on Mann Hill” & Chowder Supper

The Holden Historical Society will be presenting “Murder on Mann Hill” as part of its “What Once Was” series. The evening includes a presentation by historian Charlie Mock describing a murder that occurred in Holden nearly 70 years ago, followed by a delicious chowder supper. The Holden Historical Society invites you to hear a re-telling of the inaugural episode of our “What Once Was” series. At 7:00 PM on Monday, February 12, 2018 join amateur historian Charlie Mock at the Ellsworth City Hall to hear the story of “The Holden Dynamite Disaster of 1939”. We will be the guests of the Ellsworth Historical Society to recount the tragedy that befell an Ellsworth family travelling through Holden on the eve of World War Two.
